Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:23 AM PDT LOS ANGELES & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Wedding dress shopping is going through a digital transformation, and Lace & Liberty is paving the way for a fresh retail experience for modern brides. The online, direct-to-consumer wedding dress brand that's making luxury customization more accessible, has expanded its brick-and-mortar presence with a new showroom located at 8012 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. The 850-square-foot West Hollywood retail space is the second location for Lace & Liberty, which opened a San Francisco studio in 2017 where they are based. Lace & Liberty's showrooms are a physical extension of the brand's online, private atelier service and popular Try On At Home Box option that gives brides freedom from the tedious, traditional wedding dress shopping experience. In serving thousands of brides from around the country, Lace & Liberty found that although many millennial brides research wedding dresses online, most still value the in-person salon experience and struggle with limits in the selection and size-inclusive styles. By expanding its retail presence, the brand is extending its personalized approach to help brides achieve the dress of their dreams at an accessible price. The showrooms also carry Lace & Liberty x APW, a new capsule collection of plus size wedding dresses. "For such a significant purchase, wedding dress shopping should be a joyful event that completely caters to the individual, but that's not how the industry at large operates in design approach or salon experience," said founder Danielle Wen, a graduate of MIT and Rent The Runway's Project Entrepreneur incubator program who launched the company in 2016 after running into walls with her own exhaustive dress search. "By taking brides through a digital and transparent process, we're able to effectively translate their visions into exciting design possibilities, be upfront on costs, and take the pressure off what's usually a high-stakes retail environment." Lace & Liberty's showrooms combine the convenience of online automation with a laid-back retail environment. With the guidance of expert stylists, brides are encouraged to mix, match, and play with a variety of tops, bottoms, gowns, laces, and fabrics from the brand's core collection of wedding dresses and bridal separates. The result is a high-end, custom wedding dress for any personality, style, color preference, size, and body shape. Lace & Liberty's direct relationship with top-tier factories results in unprecedented cost savings – bridal separates start at $450 and wedding dresses range from $1,200 to $3,500. "There's an incredible community aspect around the traditional shopping experience that most brides still crave," adds Annie Hunt, Lace & Liberty's lead designer and FIDM alumna. "It can be stressful if you don't feel 'lucky' in your search, so we make that search obsolete." Learn more about Lace & Liberty at http://www.laceandliberty.com. Prom dress stress: West Fargo student still waiting for custom-made online order - Valley News Live Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:06 PM PDT FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A West Fargo High School student is in full dress distress—after ordering a prom gown online at the end of March. "Now my prom is in...I think 10 days now, and I still haven't received my dress or any word from anybody," junior, Yeno Lokosang, said. Technically, Lokosang's dress isn't late just yet: in a generic emailed response to Lokosang, the company A&N Luxe Label, says production could take up to 20 business days. And though it's been nearly five weeks since she ordered the dress, it's only been 19 business days. But now, she's getting nervous: having read reviews like one saying, "…Currently out 300 bucks and no dress." "Well, I'm really emotional, I was like crying," Lokosang said. Lokosang ordered her dress to be custom made—from Australia. "I do not like to wear the same things anybody else has," Lokosang said, "especially if it's my first prom." Alexis Haakenson, store manager at RSVP by Alan Evans in Fargo, says one-of-a-kinds are in high demand for prom day. Haakenson says most local shops have a way of ensuring no two girls look the same on prom night. "We register each dress to each school, so no girl can have the same dress in the same color," she said. And just as the store's name, RSVP, implies: prom's not something you can procrastinate with. "Delivery times are big...even our dresses, they take around six months to come in," Haakenson said. She says she's seen many girls shopping with unprecedented punctuality this year—starting as early as November. "Which, occasionally we'll have a couple girls in then, but they were definitely out in full force already," she said. Haakenson credits the early bird shopping to dress pictures popping up all over social media year round these days. "I think them scrolling constantly on their phones, I mean, it's in their hand all the time," she said, "and I mean the designers know that, the buyers, the sellers, everybody knows that." And that's how Lokosang first saw her perfect dress—on Instagram. Now she wishes she hadn't. "All the trouble I'm going through now, it shouldn't be happening," she said. "I should have gotten my dress, I should've been happy. Should have been making my hair appointments and my nail appointments and all the stuff that I may do, but I can't do that." |

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 02:22 PM PDT When I was a kid, my mom would always jokingly call Nordstrom "the mothership." It was the queen of all department stores, and we could wander around in there for hours. It was fun to aimlessly sift through racks in the departments and try on a million different things in the fitting room. Now, we can make more informed choices thanks to the internet. Nordstrom's customers leave thousands of reviews on products so we can all know what's worth our money. You can even arrange the site from highest to lowest rated, making us all major shopping experts. If you're on the hunt for a dress that is stylish and well-made and fits well, you've come to the right place. I curated a guide of the top-rated dresses Nordstrom has to offer online. Seriously, I love its selection of unique options made with quality fabrics. Prepare yourself — the site just dropped a ton of new designs to choose from. For the Spring and Summer, the department store has really impressed me with a variety of playful prints, whimsical details, and flattering silhouettes. Check out our favorite picks, and buy one for yourself before they disappear. They always go fast. |
The 947 Week of the Wedding Dress - The Media Online Posted: 23 Apr 2019 08:00 PM PDT [PRESS OFFICE] If they are not making listeners meet their favourite artists, local and international, they are helping people fulfil their dreams. The 947 Breakfast Club always give Joburgers a chance to experience their massive dose of fun, authenticity and complementary personalities. The team, made up of host Anele Mdoda, Frankie du Toit, Cindy Poluta, Thembekile Mrototo and Alex Caige, recently ran a competition, which called on Joburgers to wear wedding dresses as they go about their day. It could be their normal routine like going to work, gym, school, running errands or something less mundane like going boxing as last year's winner did. The entry mechanic allowed for listeners to take image or videos and post them on social media using the #947Weddingdress. "This competition proves that our listeners are risk takers and confident," 947 Breakfast Club host, Anele Mdoda, said. "They were exceptionally creative when it came to the activities they engaged in and made sure they made it interesting and eye catching." And Thando Makhunga, 947 station manager, added: "It's important for us to create opportunities for listeners to engage with the brand through amazing experiences. We have built a strong community of engaged audience who appreciate the unique, fun filled and creative promotions 947 has to offer. We ensure that we utilise multi-platform channels for interactive promotions and meaningful listener interaction." To get in the spirit of the competition the entire team wore wedding dresses to the outside broadcast announcement event. Miss South Africa, Tamryn Green, was the guest judge. There were among 20 hopeful finalists, out of over 1 000 entries, the winner ultimately won the hearts of listeners when she went scuba diving in her wedding dress. She won a fully-paid holiday to Mauritius, courtesy of Flight Centre and Tasamassa Resort worth R100 000. For more information, visit www.947.co.za.
