These Bachelor Dresses From Night One Are Giving Off Major Wedding Vibes - Washingtonian

Matt James' season premiere of The Bachelor was filled with drama, glitz, and glamthanks to his batch of single contestants flaunting some serious night-one looks. From flirty feathered frocks, to sequin-filled beauties, this season's group of ladies are not messing around when it comes to dressing up for their leading man.

Since we spend much of our timing dreaming about celebrations at which one could wear them, the night-one gowns, while perfect for the camera and sweeping Matt off his feet, also caught our attention, too. With pre-wedding festivities, wedding days, elopements, and after parties (and maybe even a couple of bridal party options, too!) in mind, we watched each contestant step out of the limo to greet the oh-so handsome bachelor, and rounded up a few of our favorite looks. Here are our picks, along with where brides-to-be (and their squads!) can get the look.

What Kristin Wore: A Sparkly One-Shoulder Standout

Kristin, a 27-year-old attorney from Virginia Beach, caught our attention in a sparkling silver, one-shoulder gown. We're pretty sure the dress is this metallic lace one from Jovani's Prom collection (style number 00353) from Castle Couture. We love this for a glitzy rehearsal dinner or maybe a New Years Eve bridal party option.

What Kit Wore: A Flirty Feathered Frock

Kit, a 27-year-old fashion entrepreneur from New York City, came dressed to impress on night one of Matt James' season. No surprise, really, since her mother is actually famous fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. Kit, of course, chose to wear one of her mom's designs, a feathered ombre mini dress, accessorized with a satin bow for a flirty, standout look. Kit's dress is a perfect choice for brides looking for something chic to wear at their rehearsal dinner, bridal brunch, or a fun outfit change at the reception.

What Carolyn Wore: A Gold Sequin Stunner

Carolyn, a 30-year-old journalist from L.A., opted for a wow-worthy off-the shoulder number covered in gold embellishments. It reminded us of the ultra popular Badgely Mischka gown that has doubled as a trendy bridesmaid dress option since 2015. Don't you agree?

What Marylynn Wore: A Trendy Dress in a Moody Shade with a Modest Cutout

Marylynn, the 28-year-old event coordinator from Studio City California, chose a satin gown that featured two trends we saw more than once during the Bachelor premier: side cutouts and a one-shoulder neckline. We like the dress for rehearsal dinners but maybe even more so as a bridesmaids gown. It's tough to tell from the lighting, but we think this look is actually this one-shoulder side cut-out satin gown by Jump in hunter.

What Bri Wore: A Luxe Silk Emerald Green Gown

Bri, a 24-year-old communications manager from San Francisco, swooned in an opulent silk dress that included a sexy open-back and an elegant ruffle cowl neckline. This gown is by Michelle Mason and can be found on Revolve, and is an ideal choice for a guest attending a black-tie-wedding, perhaps at a DC-area museum or hotel.

What Serena C. Wore: A Stylish Old Hollywood-Inspired Look

We have to say Serena C., a flight attendant from San Fransisco, gets our first impression rose when it comes to style. She channeled classic Hollywood with an ultra-chic figure-hugging gown, similar to this Jenny Yoo design, that also featured a cowl neckline and back. This night-one look totally suits a sophisticated DC affair.

What Amber Wore: A Beaded Embellished Dress with Art Deco Flair

Amber, a 30-year-old nursing student from Costa Mesa, California, unfortunately didn't get much air time (we aren't even sure if she had a chance to speak with Matt one-on-one) but nevertheless, we did remember her night-one gown. It resembled Adrianna Papell's haltered Art Deco beaded blouson dress, which is another popular choice for bridesmaids. Also one to consider if you're hosting a Gatsby-inspired bash.

What Sydney Wore: A Bold Red Beauty

Sydney, the 28-year old marketing specialist from Nashville, Tennessee met Matt in a bold red halter-style dress–something we think could be fun for a rehearsal dinner, an after party, or even bridesmaids or a maid of honor. Get a similar look with the "Queens" gown by Amanda Uprichard in the color "lipstick" from Revolve.

What Victoria Wore: A Bedazzled Ensemble

Love her or hate her, Victoria, the 27-year-old "queen" from LA, made quite the scene with her entrance in a look that was bedazzled from tiara to toe. We aren't sure this is her exact gown but you can definitely get the look with this Vienna dress style number 8918 in ivory.

What Khayla Wore: An Of-the-Moment Orange One-Shoulder Gown

Orange is having a moment in the wedding world, and we love this orange-ish off-the-shoulder number worn by Khayla, a 28-year-old healthcare advocate from Durham, North Carolina. We couldn't find this exact one, but this 'Eva' asymmetric column dress from BCBGMAXAZR in vibrant orange is giving us the same chic vibes.

Bridal store owner who made dress drop-offs celebrates first anniversary - Beloit Daily News

Posted: 05 Jan 2021 08:00 PM PST

ROCKTON—Hi Beautiful Bridal, 201 W. Main St, is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Jan. 7 thanks to the adaptability of owner Emily Danielson who has been driving dresses to doorsteps around the Stateline.

Danielson said she was just getting her name out and attracting some store traffic there when the pandemic struck. Her last appointment was in mid-March before a two-week store shutdown. Although she had prepared not to make a big profit the first year, she worried her name recognition would dwindle with her doors shut.

"After a couple weeks, I came up with the idea to bring dresses to people's houses and drop them off at their door," she said.

Danielson said her clients would describe what gowns they liked and their budget.

"I also created a file with photos of every dress," she said.

Dresses at Hi Beautiful go up to $30,000 in price, with the average price range being around $1,500.

Customers got to choose six to eight dresses to be delivered at a specified time.

"I would also give them veils to try on," she said.

Her clients were also treated a bouquet of flowers to tote while posing in the mirror and champagne or sparkling cider.

"It was a whole basket, everything you would need if you were at the store," she said.

Danielson said brides enjoyed the experience, as their moms and/or grandmothers could be with them. The brides had two hours to spend time with the dresses before they were retrieved for pickup.

The drop offs went over so well, Danielson continues to offer the service if customers aren't comfortable coming to the store.

Otherwise, Danielson said she books private appointments for each customer.

Although some weddings have been postponed, Danielson said brides are still getting dresses and are planning their nuptials.

"There is a sense of 'we can make it work' and scaling down the amount of guests," she said.

Right before Christmas, Danielson business started picking up momentum with her weekends being booked.

"I've even sold dresses for 2022 weddings already," she said.

Before opening her shop, Emily Danielson had done some event planning previously and had worked for three years as a paraprofessional for the Rockton School District. She said she always had a passion for weddings.

One night she was having dinner in Rockton and saw the building space available which was previously a painting studio.

"I said 'that store needs wedding dresses in the window,' she said.

She said purchasing the store moved ahead quickly, with her selecting stock and featured designers.

"I cannon-balled into it," she said.

Danielson said she loves the joy her store brings people.

"Some people get anxious walking in a big store and I like making it comfortable," she said.

Danielson is married to husband Scott and they have two children. After her experience starting a business in a pandemic she said: "I try to take things one day at a time."

2 ‘Bachelor’ Contestants Wore the Same Exact Dress to Meet Matt James on the Season 25 Premiere - Us Weekly

OMG! 2 'Bachelor' Contestants Wore the Same Exact Dress on the Premiere
Craig Sjodin/ABC

Who wore it best!? Two contestants showed up to the season 25 premiere of The Bachelor wearing the same exact gown — and it did not go unnoticed.

On Monday, January 4, Matt James made his dazzling debut as The Bachelor, proving to be as relatable as we all had hoped. But what we couldn't help but obsess over was the fact that two different contestants wore the same exact red ball gown.

The form fitting number in question features a crisscross neckline and mermaid flare. It appears to be the Revolve Nookie Viva 2Way Gown, which retails for $269. Surprisingly, the piece itself has three different color ways — red, black and pink — and comes in two different necklines. So we're surprised that two different women picked an identical pairing.

When The Bachelor's official Instagram posted a group picture with the two women standing in the front row, many Instagram users called out this little mishap. "Two girls have the same dress i—" commented the first person. Others were then quick to reply to this observation.

"Can't wait to see who wore it best 🤣," one wrote. "And they put them both in the front row 😭," commented another.

Someone else chimed in, "the producers did them dirty lol."

Meanwhile, another fan speculated that this was the only instance of this happening. "The 2 white dresses on the front row also are the same," they wrote. "Big and small so look different." However, if you take a closer look you can see that one dress has an open back cutout and the other does not.

With that being said, it's no secret that there's definitely a sort of uniform during every premiere episode rose ceremony. As Vulture notes, from season 13 and on, over half of the contestants have come to the mansion dressed in either black, red or blue. Only once has someone ever dared to wear orange, which was Nicole Mah on season 13. Then there was season 21's Alexis Waters, who arrived dressed as a shark, but that's a whole other thing!

Matt showed up to the reality show totally unknown, only making a name for himself as The Bachelorette's Tyler Cameron's best friend. This refreshing take proved worthwhile as the Bachelor showcased his vulnerability, opening up about his struggle with relationships after his parents' divorce.
